The QNAP TS-870 Pro 8 Bay 32TB NAS features 8 hot pluggable drive bays which Hire Intelligence provides for rent fully populated with 4TB 7200RPM Hard Disk Drives which provide 32TB of raw capacity which can then be configured via the integrated hardware RAID controller to a single 32TB RAID 0 array, a single 16TB RAID 10 array or any combination thereof. The QNAP TS-870 Pro 8 Bay 32TB NAS also supports RAID 5 which will maintain redundancy and offer increased capacity when compared to that offered by RAID 10 but at a cost to write performance.

Connectivity is via the dual integrated gigabit ethernet adapters which support configurations such as failover, link aggregation and connection to seperate networks. The QNAP TS-870 Pro 8 Bay 32TB NAS will also support iSCSI for direct attached or Storage Area Network (SAN) applications. These ethernet adpaters can be upgraded to support 10Gbase-T 10 gigabit ethernet and iSCSI.

Management is via the integrated Linux based OS which is powered by a dual core intel i3 CPU. Network configurations, RAID setup etc are all easily managed via the web interface but the QNAP TS-870 Pro 8 Bay 32TB NAS also includes a basic control interface on the front panel which can be used for simple tasks such as setting IP and RAID configurations.
