The Fluke DTX-CLT CertiFiber Optical Loss Test Kit provides an option for those looking to rent equipment to certify and perform basic troubleshooting pn both Singlemode and Multimode optical fiber cables and permanent links.

The complete product comprises the Fluke DTX-CLT CertiFiber Optical Loss Test Kit and Fluke Fiber Optic Test Kit to provide a lower cost alternative to the more expensive DTX-1800 solution but without the ability to test and certify copper networks. Multiple wavelength cables are supported with 1310nm and 1550nm laser sources for Singlemode and 850nm and 1300nm laser sources for Multimode fiber.

Aside from being able to test Singlemode and Multimode fiber optic cables and links for length, loss and polarity, the Fluke DTX-CLT CertiFiber Optical Loss Test Kit also offers a handy fault location feature which utilises a visible laser source which should be visible through the cables insulation where it is able to escape the fiber at a crack or break along the link.
